Cultural visit to the Filmoteca

On 27 September we will visit the Filmoteca Española. We will start the tour at the Palacio Perales (calle Magdalena 10) and finish at the Cine Doré (calle Santa Isabel 3). During the visit we will be told about the history and evolution of the buildings and their current use as headquarters of the institution.

What is the Filmoteca?

The Filmoteca Española is an organisation in charge of preserving Spain's cinematographic heritage. Its mission is to recover, research and conserve the cinematographic heritage and to promote knowledge of it.

The film collection is the core of Filmoteca Española and its raison d'être. It is a living archive. It also has an important collection of sound recordings, as well as an interesting series of objects related to the history of cinema and pre-cinema: cameras, magic lanterns, zoetropes, daguerreotypes, ferrotypes, shadow puppets, projectors, laboratory equipment and other devices dating from the 17th century to the present day.

Seating is very limited, so please register as soon as possible. If you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration so that someone else can use the place you have left.
