Grupo Viajes El Corte Inglés and EAE Business School join forces to create the first Global Master in Digital Tourism Management
EAE Business School Madrid and Grupo Viajes El Corte Inglés have launched the first ever Global Master in Digital Tourism Management, which will get started this coming November and run through to summer 2023. The students who successfully complete the Master will receive an institutional qualification from EAE Business School.
This global Master, worth a total of 60 credits, will be run in a hybrid format, with online sessions in Spanish and English, and an in-person stage in the offices of Grupo Viajes El Corte Inglés at the end of the first term. Moreover, at the end of the second academic term, there will be a four-month on-site internship period at one of the company’s offices around the world, primarily in Spain, Portugal, Mexico and Chile. The top ten students will have the opportunity to join the Grupo Viajes El Corte Inglés team on a permanent contract.
THE CORE OF THE MASTER
The program developed by EAE Business School and Grupo Viajes El Corte Inglés will equip students with the optimal tools to conduct an economic analysis of international tourism and leisure activity, focusing on the relationships between national tourism markets and the latest global trends. Moreover, participants will gain an in-depth insight into economic theory and sustainable development, effective international strategic management of tourism companies and the digitization of the sector.
The Master will also cover knowledge of marketing and communication for tourism: relational, emotional and experiential marketing, digitization of the sector and mobile marketing. Another focus of the Master will be the challenges posed by Green Marketing, as well as leadership and project and people management.
Another key feature of the program will be customer insights and relations: Revenue Management (RM) for effective pricing management and an overview of the main RM strategies, as well as gaining a command of the specific technologies used in the tourism industry applied to the traveller and distribution, service provision, and in key phases such as customer acquisition, potential customer needs analysis, and service tracking and feedback.
“The program represents a significant investment as Grupo Viajes El Corte Inglés will provide a grant to cover part of the enrolment fees, fully subsidize the on-site period and give the students a paid internship. On top of this commitment, with a very significant historical return, the Group is offering a permanent contract at the company to the top ten students of the graduating class”, explained Manuel Domínguez Cuadrado, the Chief Resources Officer at Grupo Viajes El Corte Inglés.
“The Master is designed to strive for excellence for the students in terms of their professional development. To achieve this, from an academic perspective, the program will be led by a faculty of lecturers with a wealth of professional experience in the tourism sector. In addition, a key feature of the program will be the implementation of innovative methodologies which, by virtue of the online nature of the Master itself, will have a large digital component”, explained Diego Santos, the Director of EAE Business School’s Global Master in Digital Tourism Management.
